I'm gonna apply to be a Daily Cal columnist after all. Since I don't have time to write three mock-columns that'll never see the light of day, I'm just reusing old Calstuff posts of appropriate length and interest. Specifically: Student Action Executive Slate announcement, Deconstruction of Sex DeCal article, and today's SJP post.
Strangely, all three mock the Daily Cal one way or another. It wasn't intended that way. Just happened. Oh well. And while I was working on that, I thought it'd be a good idea to start a list of all stories broken by Berkeley Bloggers. I've only got Nolo, Angry Clam, and myself so far. Smokie, Tarkin, Praglib and others: please send me your own lists. And to clarify, this is hardly a ranking of 'Who's the best.' Merely a facet of Berkeley Blogging that is reasonably easy to measure and of particular interest as regards the Daily Cal. I'm not out to punish Angry Clam for concentrating on On-the-Spot protest coverage and in-depths on the local radicals, for example. Stories broken by Calstuff: 1. Theft of California Patriots 2. Punishments of SJP Folks 3. University Frat Party Suspension 4. Student Action's Executive Slate 5. APPLE's Executive Slate 6. Cal-SERVE's Executive Slate 7. Further delayal of Elections results 8. Power Outage on campus 9. Elections policy of AAA 10. Candidacy of Kevin Deenihan for AAVP (Juuuust kidding.) Stories broken by Angry Clam 1. SJP Protest coverage 2. Death of GBUM 3. Rebirth of GBUM 4. Suicide on Evans Hall 5. SJP Plans to protest Israeli Independence Day 6. National Distribution of Unit 1 Prostitution Video Stories broken by Nolo Free 1.
