I've got the inside story on what pushed Dean Kenney over the edge vis a vis Frat stuff. The reason she was teetering on the edge, of course, is a series of systematic violations of University policy by the Frats. But she mentioned that.
Last weekend, however, were two particularly flagrant parties. The way Calstuff Correspondent BFDD tells it, the parties at Pike and Chi Psi, Pike High and Luau respectively, both were exceptionally bad. Chi Psi didn't provide staff, didn't comply with security regulations, and did things like had Brothers serving hard alcohol to attendees. That's a strict no-no. The Pike Party, while technically complying, became way too overcrowded. Apparently when a fire alarm went off, the party was so packed the firefighters weren't able to push their way inside to see if there was a fire. Also, a Kappa girl apparently cracked her head walking back from the Pike party. I find that last one pretty amazing. We're not talking a hike to the Big C, here. Kappa Kappa Gamma is literally across the street from Pike. And it's not a big street. There's minor stuff, too, but these are the violations that broke the camel's back.Email This Post! |
