A reader asks which building SJP will be barricading. Good question! First of all, it's not certain they'll try to. My sources on that are secondhand.
BTW, a source has revealed that the UCPD has promised to be out in force. That means about 10-15 Officers. Enough to dampen proceedings, but not stop anything major. Best guesses: 1. Dwinelle Hall. Plus: Very large building, lots of students go in and out. Close to Sproul Plaza. Minuses: Lots of students go in and out. Very hard to block much off, unless they're just going for the front doors. (Which would be a pretty good idea.) 2. Sproul Hall. Plus: Symbolically protesting the Administration. Photogenic. Relatively easy to block off. Minuses: Getting Administration angry could be counter-productive. 3. Wheeler Hall. Plus: Relatively easy to block off. Already been blocked off. Minuses: Been there, done that. Cops will expect it. 4. Eshleman Hall. Plus: Seat of student groups and government. Easiest of all to block off. Won't piss off students; even Republicans like smacking the ASUC around. Minuses: No one will see it, no one will care.Email This Post! |
