Online Voting Once Again
So when I orginally posted the Online Voting Bill authored by (mostly) Ben and myself (barely), I did so with a introduction about the Health Care Referendum, because that election is occurring online. All the comments were about the health care fee. That was a mistake on my part. I don't really care about the health care fee, and I didn't think any of you would either. Since I would like to see online voting pass, and since I will be making sure to note which Senators were responsible for blocking it if it fails, I figure it will be productive to have a discussion about this before it goes to committee. Again, here is the copy of the bill. This UC Berkeley site has a wealth of information on online voting. Information like this: By all indications, online elections are cheaper, faster, easier for voters, more accurate, less labor intensive, and less complicated, and they make more election information easily accessible to the voters... The last online election – for the Class Pass Student Fee Referendum in 2001 – was a resounding success, so we are continuing to use this method.Responses appreciated...Email This Post! |
