Update on the below about SJP Sponsorship:

SJP, ironically, only became recognized as a first year ASUC Sponsored Student Group this fall. The relevant bill is SB 68, which passed in mid-October.
RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF STUDENTS FOR JUSTICE IN PALESTINE (SJP)

WHEREAS, SJP has been an OSL registered student group for two years; and

WHEREAS, SJP is a diverse group of students, faculty, and community members at the University of California, Berkeley, organized on democratic principles to promote justice, human rights, liberation, and self-determination for Palestinian people; and

WHEREAS, SJP welcomes individuals of all ethnic and religious backgrounds to join in solidarity and rejects all forms of hatred or discrimination; and

WHEREAS, SJP activities include educational events, nonviolent demonstrations, and events to increase awareness around the issue of justice in Palestine; and

WHEREAS, in previous years, SJP events have been attended by hundreds of students, staff, faculty, and community members;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Students for Justice in Palestine be granted ASUC sponsorship for the 2003-2004 academic year as a first-year Student Activity Group.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the ASUC Senate allocate $200 (two hundred dollars) from the Sen¬ate Contingency Fund to Students for Justice in Palestine.
It passed 15-0-2
