From the Alameda Times-Star: 'POMP and Circumstance" chimed up shortly after a Christmas carol about a sleigh ride during commencement activities Saturday for about 200 December graduates from the University of California, Berkeley. The students filed into Zellerbach Auditorium for the slightly off-season ceremony, held annually for students who finish their studies in the middle of the year rather than at the end.
