Daily Cal, "Woman Dies Two Weeks After Severe Beating":

A woman severely beaten in central Berkeley died from her injuries Sunday, almost two weeks after the assault that is now the city’s first homicide of the year, authorities said.

After lying unconscious for nearly two weeks, Mary Kint, 45, died about 2 p.m. Sunday at Highland Hospital in Oakland, said Cheryl Gibbs, a supervisor with the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau.

Every death is a tragedy. I don't have anything further to say on this, as the details are largely unclear at this time, but we should be grateful that things are so safe here that we can generally count the murders in Berkeley each year on one hand.Email This Post!
