New Chairman for UC Regents

Following its contraversal vote on raising the GPA requirement and the retirement of one of its members over attendance issues, the UC Regents selected Regent Gerald Parsky to be the new chairman for the UC Board of Regents. Parsky is a prominent California Republican who chaired President Bush's 2000 campaign in California and worked on Governor Schwarzenegger's transition team. The new vice-chair is Regent Richard Blum, the husband of US Senator Dianne Feinstein.
